Recently purchased home built in the 1950's, realizing as it's getting hotter that no roof vents are on the detached garage and it is getting very hot in there. What are the best and easiest ways to add ventilation?

Soffit vents on the eaves and ridge vent on the roof if you have enough ridge, if not then you can add turbines or static vent boxes

Check out a 10W 4Seasons vent, and also the things suggested above

Some options to consider are installing a gable vent, ridge vent, or even a solar-powered attic fan. We contacted HVAC services in Fair Oaks https://alphamechanicals.com/service-area/fair-oaks-hvac-service/ for a similar issue and they recommended installing a gable vent. It works for us.
For a DIY-friendly approach, you could cut in some soffit vents near the roof's edge to promote air flow.
