Perhaps the greatness of the Dutch Oven needs its own section? I think that there could also be sections for tailgating/deer camp?

aaaaaaaaand, go!

Yes- we have planned for the Dutch oven to have it's own section. However, we were planning on tackling one section per day.

Should we petition staff to sticky a thread up at the top with links to each days topic thread. So that in two weeks when someone remembers a great breakfast recipe they can easily find it and add to the list?

Sorry Pam... I didn't catch where we were doing one topic per day.

Of course I am typing this while pretending like I am listening to this guy at lunch, so I'm probably not focusing on much today!

That is a good idea IsleAg- That's why I voted in favor of the thread. I figured that if enough people voted in favor of the thread that staff would sticky it.

Terk- no prob . Recipes can also be emailed to the email listed in the first post.

Texas Ranch Style Gumbo

2.5 lbs boneless goat meat
1/4 cup all purpose flour
1 teaspoon dried whole thyme
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
3 tablespoon butter
3 tablespoon vegetable oil
3/4 cup chopped green onion
1 large green pepper
3 large tomatoes, chopped
1 bay leaf
2 cups chicken broth
1 package frozen okra
1/2 teaspoon hot sauce
6 cups hot cooked rice

Trim excess fat from goat meat and cut into 1 inch cubes. Combine flour, thyme, salt and pepper; dredge meat in flour mixture. Heat butter and oil Dutch oven; add meat and cook until browned on all sides. Remove meat, reserving drippings in Dutch oven. Add onion and green pepper to reserved drippings; saute until tender. Stir in meat and remaining ingredients except rice. Cover and simmer 1.5 hours. Remove bay leaf and serve over hot rice. (Think this recipe is from the Texas Meat Goat Association)

This is a great dish, which is even 2x better the next day.
