Here's an idea: start them both at the same time in a spread dual-outback formation. Either could receive a direct snap, and the other could act as the backfield pitch man who can still pass, or a receiver, and wouldn't that give the defenses something to worry about. Reggie could do what he does best - running (which if he is drafted to the NFL, he'll be doing instead of QB'ing) when we need a big break, and the duality of it makes for some really interesting screen pass play fakes if one qb is about to be sacked. Turn Reggie into a very pass-capable running back, and put Steven in there to throw the ball. Steven has a cool head on his shoulders, and that is far more important than being able to rocket a ball (which he can still do) or run (which he can still do). I think that wrinkle in a spread (Steven gets a snap, rolls out to the right and then gives a screen to Reggie if everyone is covered from his view or he's fixing to be sacked, and then Reggie could throw or run) would give us a huge advantage. It's time to get creative. I've been a big proponent of turning our defense around by bringing back Bob Davie and the 3-4 (which got my thread deleted *growls at mods*, although the 3-4 defense is theoretically superior, [don't have room to go back into that here]) and I'm also a big proponent of creative offense. It's time to try SOMETHING new.
