Absolutely no chance. Fran has taken a beating in the Texas media, not to mention they are so scared of the NCAA, there is no way they would hire a guy that just broke rules, no matter how minor.

If SMU thinks they're getting a bargain they would do so.

Also I think Frans ego is so big he will want a HC job immediately to try and 'prove' to himself he's great and we somehow stopped him from succeeding.

He cant expect any program bigger than something like SMU at this point.

Fran would be all over that. His family loves Texas. He is already loaded and could live in Highland Park and have a nice life.

He would also get SMU on the right track and 7-4 records would be a welcomed sight.

so wrong on every account, of course they would, NCAA does it all the time, Jackie coached again, so did many...won't hurt his chances at all my little naive friend...

SMU doesn't want TCU's leftovers, either. Not to mention, they are getting a ton of interest from some pretty big names, they won't have to settle on Fran.

It cannot be true that a player "saw him", Alan Cannon just said this afternoon that he has been working on his "game plan". I wonder if Alan knows if "the plan" is not for MIZZOU but for fried fran.

$bill didn't know about the VIP gate for three years, so fran maybe breaking in 'ol Alan too.

You think Barnett is a 'bigger' name than Fran?

I think SMU would rather have someone with Frans bagge than someone with Barnetts.

Plus Fran has D/FW ties, and has some friends in high places in the area.

I would be shocked if they picked Barnett over Fran.

How would this SMU player know this, since SMU was playing Houston last night in Houston ........and their AD was interviewed on the tube during the game............

I do agree that Fran would be an excellent fit for SMU though.....

A player very well could have seen Fran there Sunday as I do believe not all players on a football team travel to away games (travel squads). Remember, Martellus didn't make the trip to Nebraska.

Fran would probably be fairly successful at SMU. He's had a lot of past success at 2nd tier schools. I wish him the best.

I heard the same rumor myself, but I have so idea what it is based on or whether to take stock in it or not. With our luck, he will go there and return them to the glory days of consistent winning seasons and bowl games, and we will be here scratching our heads for the next ten years wondering what the heck is going on with the universe and why God hates us.
