Coach Fran,
I just would like you to thank you for your service to the University. Even though we might not have won as many games as anyone would like, I enjoyed every minute of Aggie football. I was extremely excited when you and Kim decided to make your home here in Aggieland. I have been one of your supporters from Day 1.

Last season, we were extremely close to winning the Big XII, and taking a huge step forward. If it wasn't for a few bad bounces, we would have been able to add to the trophy case.

I liked how you handled the 'list-eater' situation. You're quote of 'Eat donuts, not lists' will live on forever. I was thrilled when you put OU and Bob Stoops in their place earlier this year by expressing your concern over summer jobs. I am happy you called out tu by their rightful name of tu.

You are a true professional. The way you handled the swarm of speculation on your job, which may turn out to be completely unfounded, was a class act, something that is sorely lacking at texags. You held your head up high and kept the team focused. We stood toe to toe against the #4 team in the country, in their own house, and pushed them to their limits.

Unfortunatly, some people are still stuck in the late 80's and 90's where the SWC was weak and pathetic, and tu was far from the power it is today.

I look forward to our victory over tu on Friday, and hope, you, Kim, and the rest of your family has a Merry Christmas over this holiday season. I wish you good luck in whatever your future may hold.

weak. Fran doesn't deserve much. He has been the worst coach in our history and broke the rules. And I truly believe he is the reason the team quit on themselves AND the reason the 12th man quit on the team.

What tha? Have you even been paying attention the last 5 years? Fran has had WAY more failures than successes as our head coach. His VIP gate, the blow out losses, kicking field goals instead of scoring TD's, not going for 2 point conversions, the FREAKING 4-2-5 defense, the spread option, hiring a former sip DC, etc.

Man I for one am glad to see him leave. I don't wish him ill-will I just want him gone so we can put the last 5 years behind us and look forward to better days ahead.

Ok so if you failed miserably at your job you would not want ANYONE to show you any kind of appreciation??

We don't have to be horse's rear ends to change coaches. It just didn't work out for him here - it wasn't some conspiracy he had set up with the devil to keep us from winning.

i hate it when people call him Dentist Franchione.

I agree with everything about that statement (honestly), except for the Newsletter scandal. I lost a lot of respect for the man when that happened.

I wish Fran the best in the future, but he needs to go the way of RC. Let's get a fresh start and set our expectations for the next coach low (like we did for Billy G), so that we can only be pleasantly surprised.

there are so many ridiculously dumb things that fumbler said that my head is going to explode. yes, thank for your service fran. it was very nice of you to take just 2 million dollars a year to coach at a school rich in football history and with one of the best fan bases in the country. that was extremely kind and gnenerous of you. by the way, thanks for running it into the dirt and by embarrassing us with a newsletter scandal in the process. that was very nice of you too.

Fumbler huh? Did you return punts for Fran sometime in the past?

He might be a great guy (although the VIP thing casts some doubt), but he's the DUMBEST gameday coach I'ev ever seen and I will rejoice the day he is fired....which will be Friday.

I call bull**** on the first post.

Fran is out of his league in the Big XII.

Fran defrauded our university of millions of dollars the day he rode in on a midnight flight from Alabama after skating on his players there.

He rode the talent of LaDanian Tomlinson all the way to the least deserved extension of all time, and McGee is the only player in the history of this school to visibly support him, and that's just because he was being a company guy.

In the end, being a superficial jerk will catch up to you. Enjoy SMU where you belong.

Fran, I would like to thank you for my monetary losses over the years of betting with my heart and not my head on Aggie Football.

I would like to thank for drawing negative attention to Aggieland and turning players against their school and fans.

Finally, I would like to thank you for the many silent drives home after a home loss and especially the drive on New Years day from Dallas. I especially liked that one. Oh yea, Not to forget that Baylor drive when I stopped for a 12pack & saw my fellow aggies and all we could do was laugh.

Its been Frantastic !!!!!!!!!!

I would like to thank Fran for giving me the opportunity to learn how to laugh instead of cry when faced with constant disappointment
