I did not realize that they have 4 starters returning from a 23 win team. They only lost to #10 Gonzaga by about 13 or so in the NCAA tournament last year.

This is a sleeper game and could be a very good test for us. We were pretty slow out of the chute tonight which is understandable playing a team that looks a lot like an "automatic" win after a very tough circuit on the left coast. We can't afford to start out as slowly against Akron or it could reach up and bite us.

I'd also like to point out that the Zips bring in a 7 foot, top 100 recruit. This should be a closer game than many of you may think. Akron has been adapting to the new season, and it's only a matter of time before they really break out. I'd make sure I got plenty of sleep.

I'm nervous. I think we are playing with a lot of confidence right now though, and if we can keep having stretches where we knock down a lot of threes then I think we will be good to go. But yes they are experienced and talented.

However a loss to Austin Peay and a beating from NC State as well as a 3 pt win over Arkansas Pine Bluff doesn't really make sense to me

Dont be nervous, we should beat this team and beat them well if we play on our toes from tip off. No more underestimating teams. Turge will have them prepared.

Akron is a very good team on paper but they might have the worst set of results (MOV and bad losses) of any team we've played so far, so this is one where you don't really know what to expect. I have no doubt that the approach coaches/players are taking though is that this is a really good team we are going to play.
