A lot has changed since we lost to the Zips in 1949. At that time, we were a 7,000-student cow college affectionately called "Sing Sing on the Brazos." See
http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,940101,00.html. Now our student body numbers more than 47,000 and we have indoor plumbing and even a presidential library.
Meanwhile, Akron has rusted away, and its population has declined by 30% to about 208,000. See
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akron,_OH. But it is still the "Rubber Capital of the World." ("And that is what we are going to do to them Ags" [I couldn't resist...sorry!]) By the end of the game, they will be reminded why AA started in Akron. :-)
