I would argue that A&M has never played the same against Tech since that awful day. In football or basketball.

Still thats the idea. Something always screws us when we play Tech in a pivotal game. A late phantom holding call. A fumble ruled a pass. A last second miracle TD pass. Crazy Refs, lucky plays....

Until the last two years or so, Tech has just had better players than A&M in basketball. No curse there.

I think it was the Tech game in 2002 when they came back and won in overtime. Rallied from an 18 point deficit at Kyle... not a good day for us!

Ahh, your right. '02 was the massive meltdown including the missed PAT's.

The first time I saw evidence of a "curse" was in 1989 at a football game in Lubbock. We were winning 24-20 with under a minute to go, Tech was driving and Jamie Gill was sacked and fumbled the ball...Ags recovered. The ref never saw the ball loose until after he hit the ground (at least that's what he ruled). Replays confirm a fumble which would have ended the game.

Next play, Gill throws a 35 yard TD pass and wins the game. Every since, we've been snake bit vs. Tech.

If I remember correctly, the ref that made the bad call was a Tech grad.

We have lost to the best 2 teams we have played in basketball.

Face it we have a good record cause our schedule is stacked with tomato cans for competition.

I think we are all keenly aware of the pain of losing to tceh. I liken the situation to that of a scientist out to prove a theory. The scientist has a theory that is convinced it true. Absolutely true, no question about it. But it is still a theory. Now all he has to do it prove it.

So, the scientist sets out to prove his point. He sets up an experiment and BLAM! he gets a result contrary to his theory.

"Well," he thinks to himself, "that can't be right" so he does it again. Same results, only think time, it blows his theory out of the water.

More determined, he keeps trying experiments one after another, all in vain to try to prove his theory is correct. He loadly exclaims to his taunting friends that the next one will prove his theory and his theory is still correct. Alas, although he will go insane proclaiming his theory is correct, an objective outside would be forced to conclude that the theory is just flat wrong.

I hate (and I mean HATE) to say this, but a rational person -- which some would say excludes Aggies -- would have to conclude that tceh has the better program in these two sports in recent history. They are a combined 19-10 winning almost 2/3 of the games.

In order to hold to the theory, we have to start having different results.



I support my Aggies 100% win or lose, without complaint and without reservation.

Dang, 9-3 since 1996 in football. I knew it was bad, but not that bad, ouch!

You guys have played two games on the road of the 17 you have played. Don't expect a team that hasn't been tested on the road AT ALL to come out and dominate in a Big 12 road game. Bobby Knight isn't considered as one of the greatest basketball coaches of all time or the winningest coach ever because he sucks at coaching and can't prepare his team for a in-state rival home game.

And yes, Arizona and Tech are the two best teams you've played, followed closely by a struggling and fla tout mediocre LSU team. You guys have yet to play a single ranked team, and Arizona and ech are the two closest even resembling ranked teams on your schedule.

tech isn't a good bball team. they don't have done guy that would even be coming off the bench for us.

bobby just bent over mt is pretty much what it boils down to.

We got screwed in '89, '95 and '99. What year did Tech get to run a play with no defense on the field?

Zeno would probably be in our rotation.

Ohio State is better than tech. tech is not a good team. That said, they came out pumped to get Knight's 900th win at home. We came out flat. K-state will be important to see how we bounce back from this humiliating loss.

BLOWOUT losses in Lubbock and close games that can go either way at Kyle have become the norm. It is SICKENING. Last night's game was just the latest debacle. Unbelievable.

I am sick of all of this talk of "only two road games"...winning in NYC at MSG is a couple of road victories for a team from TX. Neutral court, obviously, but still "road wins" dammit!

Maybe you guys just aren't as good as you think you are. MAybe Tech is better than you think they are.

I think it has something to do with the nuclear weapon facilities near Lubbock. I think there is Kryptonite or something in the air. It is certainly the Twilight Zone.

No, repetitive "screwing"... Truth is Tceh feels towards us like we feel towards t.u. They are getting geared up for a game that hardly seems to blip on our team's radar. Since the early 90s anyways, Tceh has been a thorn in our sides (regardless of the sport, it seems - except maybe women's soccer).

How do we let Sherman know that we expect him to be undefeated in the state of Texas???

until we get over the mental side of it we will never beat Tech so we first have to win between our ears then we can win on the court and on the feild.

No excuse - we lost for a number of reasons. But please don't show up here and try to sound authoritative and make stupid statements.

The Zach Thomas pick for TD was in '95. I was watching at a sports bar. There were some highly pissed off A&M fans after that. Man that SUCKED.
