This is Texas A&M. We are always disappointed in athletics. The number one aggie saying: "WE HAD SOME CLOSE GAMES BUT JUST WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR"
We will always be mediocre. We havent done a damn thing in football since 1929. We have never done a damn thing in basketball ever. Lets just stop making excuses. Anytime our teams play on national tv, just dont watch if you dont want to get disappointed. WE NEED TO TAKE OUR MAROON GOGGLES OFF AND BE THANKFUL WE GO TO THIS GREAT UNIVERSITY FOR ACADEMICS NOT ATHLETICS.

Y'all are basically supporting Pops argument by making a stink about his misinformation of not identifying the 1939 championship.
Guess what ... it was freaking a long time ago when college football didn't mean too much to anyone. Heck, look at the other national champions such as Harvard, Dartmouth, Yale, etc ... those schools aren't known for football.
That accomplishment happened back in the days of leather helmets and MOST of us weren't even born.
However, leave it to an Ag to bring that stupid crap up in an argument against TU or Tech when for the last 50 years both schools have owned us.
Get over it ... live in the present and recent past ... not in the archives.

Well, I have to agree with pops sadly
A&M athletics hasn't achieved anything noteworthy in DECADES.... I used to be angered when i never saw Aggie highlights on ESPN or anything but now I know why they don't put us on their highlights: because no one cares if we beat teams like Louisiana Lafayette.........
We have some wins against good teams but when it comes down to it, national television does us no good, we don't win championships, we all make excuses when something bad happens, we all try to find someone to blame (like fran), we need to just admit that we are a huge university that is mediocre in sports. We have never been elite. It's sad but true

From 1991-1995, we were elite...until the loss to Tceh in 1995...that's when it started going downhill.
