ESPN's ticker is reporting this. I didn't see anything on the first three pages. Any links to a report?
quote:
Bottom line, he stopped the opposing player from advancing. Sorry the kid broke his leg, but the play was not dirty.
quote:
So I'm assuming that if your child, teammate, etc broke his leg you wouldn't care? Cmon man, get a grip. I know you're just trying to defend Von, but get real.

quote:you are outrageous. I knew a few kids in HS that broke their legs and tore ligaments in their knees due to Horse Collars
I haven't seen the ticker, but saw it happen at the game. Bottom line, he stopped the opposing player from advancing. Sorry the kid broke his leg, but the play was not dirty.
quote:
Get real about what? No one said they didn't care, but it wasn't a dirty play. Period. If someone grabbed someone by the arm in the heat of trying to tackle a tough runner and said runner's arm popped off, it wouldn't be called "dirty" any more than this one should.
Unfortunate? Yes. Dirty? No.
quote:good thing you know nothing about me. I played ball in houston. I was no legend, but a teammate of mine got hurt by one of those. I am not asking for some sort of witch hunt. Those things happen, but at least have coach talk to him about changing his technique. Nothing wrong with this.
Cue the, "I was a Texas High School Football Legend," reponses. Or in Yankees case, New York.
quote:i def agree.
Yankees I understand your concern for the player, but to pretend that such moralistic decisions like that are possible in a Division 1 game is unrealistic. The speed of the game is too fast. Please don't make this some sort of witch-hunt. Its a violent game, Von was doing his job.
