This, right now, is the lowest point ever in Aggie football.

No it isn't.
Now, a raider obsessing on an Aggie message board...that's a norm.

A&M's all time winning percentage equates to a 7-5 record in a 12 game season. So, no, this isn't the norm.

My dad has seen a lot of bad A&M football. He and I agreed that this is the worse we've seen A&M look - ever.

This is the worst football program that has worn Aggie jerseys.
Yet, we have great facilities, great student body, great funding, good location in a huge football talent pool state, great former student support and we are the largest university with the worst program... go figure.
And there is no hope in sight.

I was debating with myself regarding the '03 team v. '08 team. I think '03 would win.
The defense is worse this year and Courtney Lewis would run all over us.

Never had a winning season in my 4 years. Freshman year,'70, we went 2-9. We've not been that bad since. However, with all A&M has to offer today, our current team is a disgrace and record totally unacceptable.

We haven't loss to Tech, Baylor and Texas in the same season since 1972.
We are as bad as I have ever seen since I started watching in 1973.

whether we are the worst ever or not doesnt matter. the fact that we are so pathetic and our rivals are the best they have ever been makes it the worst time in aggie football history.
i feel so bad for my fellow aggies...

It is fair to say they we picked a great year to stink and rebuild.
In this environment, a really great team is going to be third in our division. Being a solid 4th doesn't amount to much.
The only real concern is recruiting.
All this whining about firing Sherm in yr 1 is idiotic. Hiring a coach is a 3yr commitment unless you find him with a hoar in a sleezy hotel room.

This is by far the most embarrassing I have ever seen, and I go back to the 60's. Teams of the past played with a lot of heart, pride and emotion but were generally out-manned by programs that could sign 40-50 of the best athletes the state had to offer. In this age of scholarship limits, this is the worst I have ever seen.
Sherman has positioned himself to have to win with recruiting leftovers other programs don't have the scholarships to take. I have seen nothing with his staff this year that leads me to believe he will be able to do this.

If you break our history down into 20 year segments virtually any generation of Ags can say that there were worse years in their time. If nothing else we are consistent.
