He's recruited that part of the country pretty heavy before, and he's done a decent job.
Also, if Barnes heads to Kentucky, Anderson can go join his daughter at t.u.
I mean...Barnes and Anderson have already been contacted, and have started talks...also, someone on the inside at Kentucky has said its almost a done deal....and (feel free to add your own "rumor" support statement).

The man who started their meltdown as a program taking over the reigns. Kind of ironic.

I don't think they like "his kind" there if you catch my drift.

^ Also a solid guess - if I remember correctly he was pursued pretty heavily last time before they had to settle with BCG. Maybe after a few years post-championships he would re-consider leaving.

So UK must have an all-white basketball team right?

 tubby smith?
but i get your point.
tubby wins = pitino's players
tubby loses = his fault, bad recruiting, etc.

Apparently I am. If UK and the state of Kentucky is so racist that they couldn't stomach a black coach for 10 years why would they tolerate any black players on the team?

 See cablin's post for clarification.

So the sole reason that UK fans were unhappy with Tubby is because he was black? If he had been white, it would be Tubby's championship and UK fans would be happy with the white "10 lose Tubby?"

They wouldn't be happy with the "10 lose" Tubby, but I bet he would have received credit for HIS championship. He's the one getting blamed for the, snicker, bare cupboard that was left for Gillispie.

this would be my best guess too if Mike Anderson were to actually leave.
