Does anyone know if CBS is planning to show our game at 4? Right now the channel lineup says the news will start at 4...

Doesn't DirecTV have some sort of March Madness package you can purchase? Wouldn't the game then be shown?

I'm thinking about bars with DirecTV.

i believe Buffalo Wild Wings has direct tv...

i wanted to be able to watch it at home. I believe the CH 11 here is still trying to receive permission to pick it up. the one in houston did.

I just got a call from the programming director at ch.11 (i had e-mailed him previously). Our game WILL NOT be shown locally on Ch.11. There are only 4-5 markets in the entire US that the game will be shown on...Houston, Waco, Bryan, Tyler (WTH???), and Salt Lake City. He said it will be on CBS college sports...please funnel all complaints to:

CBS has no plans to broadcast Friday's Texas A&M-Utah State game back to Dallas on Channel 11 at 3:45 p.m. Channel 11 will be showing local and national news instead. Sigh.

Seriously? Who watches the evening news anymore. Unbelievable.

What really pisses me off is that 11 does this every year. Don't remember what the 4pm game was last year but I expected to turn on 11 and see it only to instead to see my least favorite local news team.

Anyone know folks that advertise w them? What about ABC Pest? Big Ag and probably pays for ads. That's who we need to complain to.

What's strange is I'm pretty sure this is a station owned by CBS itself. The stations in Houston and Austin are owned by independent companies and they're electing to air the game.

I could possibly see an independent station airing the local news because they could potentially make more money without the rev share but I would think a CBS owned property would definitely have their station show it.

I talked to someone that would know and this is likely all about money from CBS's standpoint. Games shown during the day don't really drive that much audience so CBS won't gain from a national perspective for their national advertisers. What they will gain is having more local ad spots by airing local news.

KHOU and KEYE will actually be losing money by not airing local news and their decision is all about goodwill with their viewers.

EDIT - They can show it on Ch. 21 which is surprising they won't do it.

CBS in New York says that KTVT is free to pick up the game if it wants it. This according to Barry Horn at the DMN.

The Aggie base of former students in Dallas and environs is HUGE.

If CBS11 doesn't do the right thing, the game will be available on cable's CBS College Sports. The network is available on Time Warner Cable, Verizon Fios, AT&T U-Verse, DirecTV and Dish Network

Just spoke with the programming department and they confirmed that they ARE going to air the game on channel 11! He told me to be sure and let "my friends" know (probably so we would stop calling and emailing). I think the aggie network wore them out on this one. Whoop!

Thanks for your email. We have been in contact with the station this morning and CBS 11 in Dallas will carry the Aggies’ game.
 
There was some scheduling and distribution issues the station had to confirm with CBS and the NCAA in order to show the game.
