Adam Smith channeled the ghost of Neal Stephenson today with his 2-run double in the bottom of the 9th to lift the Ags to a stunning 5-4 victory!

This was the most exciting game I've seen at Olsen since that 2001 Sunday game vs. #1 Nebraska when Stephenson did the same thing (to win the series and the game by an identical 5-4 tally).

The tying and winning runs scoring on an extra-base hit are more exciting than a walkoff home run. Great job by Adam in the clutch

your memory is very good, W. It was a great finish after a pitching duel early on.

I like to remember Colligans walk off home run against Mizzou 2 years ago.

I like to remember Smith's bottom of the 8th, 2 out, in the park home run to seal the win against the sips on the friday night game last year... oh wait... DAMN YOU DAVE YEAST!!!

Colligan's walkoff against Missouri in extra innings. Gave us our 5th straight Big 12 sweep if I remember correctly

Last years Texas game was probably a little more exciting with the dramatic plays at the plate and stuff. If your looking for just excitement.

Colligan's agains Mizzou was my favorite. If I remember correctly we were down by quite a few in that game and came back?

I think so. I had that game tivo'd and I was there for it(I miss my tivo) and I believe it was the first pitch in the bottom of the 10th (I believe it was either pitch 140 or 146 for Gibson) that KC went yard with.

[edit because I forget to use all my words sometimes]

I have the video clip of that still . I remember all of us on the front row of 205/206 yelling the pitcher's name at the beginning of that pitch yelling the pitcher's name as he went to throw the homerun ball.

that Homerun was even more dramatic bc it was in the face of a 30 MPH wind. Longest ball hit that day before Colligan's was about 25 feet from the fence.

The Mizzou pitcher that Sunday threw a helluva game...Colligan absolutely destroyed that ball though. On a day with the wind blowing out, that ball goes 450+ feet. That day...just enough to get over the fence.

The Friday night Missouri 2008 game was also quite exciting. Missouri in control, Ags get Crow into a high pitch count and get him out, scratch a run in the 6th, crowd comes to life...huge homer off of Scooter Hicks...many other stuff...walk off balk...Great game!

I like the facts that in today's game the Ags never had the lead until the final pitch.

And the winning rally was by 3 players hitting .158, .200, and .209 respectively, before they stepped into the batter's box for their 9th inning at-bat

I think it was a grand slam. It was either that series or the home regional. I can't remember anymore (getting old).

We robbed one in the home regional as well, but Benny robbed a grand slam in the Friday game vs Misery.

We came back from 6 or 7 down in that one which was stopped by a rain delay for a little while. Fun game that was. This was a good one too. After doing nothing for 6 innings and playing through umpires and classless moves by Misery, we pulled it out. Nobody expected Naquin or Wood to get on, but they did.

You all sure have had a lot of those sort of moments against us. I wish Mark Johnson was still there.

One of my favorites was the home opener against A&M-CC in 2003.

Ags were down 5-4 going to the bottom of the 9th. Matt Alexander singled to put newcomer and slugger Cory Patton - the winning run - at the plate. Patton then bunted Alexander over to second and I distinctly remember myself openly (and loudly) questioning why in the world we would have Patton BUNT. Then Ruggiano hit a walk-off HR to win the game. And I felt like a jerk.

Coldest game I've ever been to at Olsen was vs. Mizzou in '98. Sunday game. Clendenin found an oven mitt (one) in his car and wore it on his left hand...so he could keep score with his right hand. Good times. Good, good times.

But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. – Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)

The '01 Nebraska series was the baited hook for Aggie baseball for me.

'01 texas and '05 texas games came to mind as well as being exciting endings

I don't know. I remember freezing my assets off 04 opening weekend (opening game rained out if I remember right). That was cold and the rally blanket (thick fleece) did nothing against the cold).

04 - I absolutely remember that opener at Olsen as well and thinking the same thing about Patton bunting and then wow. LOL. That was Patton and Ruggiano's first game as Ags if I remember correctly, and they were batting 3 and 4 in the order. Talk about instant impact.

I just got home from Olsen a couple of hours ago and wow was it worth the trip. Great, great day at Olsen. Always love some Olsen magic, but today was fantastic!!

I know it wasn't at Olsen but the 08 Sunday game at Baylor was pretty crazy. Scored something like 8 runs in the final two frames to come back and send it into extras. Rob was tossed in that game as well.

As far as Olsen specific, probably Mizzou 08 Sunday game. I've seen a lot of great games over these four years but that home run isn't something I'll forget soon.

todays game was very exciting..full of big moments.

not at Olsen..but we clinched the 1998 Big 12 title with some dramatics in Waco..final weekend of the regular season and winner of that series would win the title...we had an early 5-0 lead but Baylor cut it to 5-4..in the top of the 8th Baylor intentially walks Kuzmic to get to Scheschuck...Scheesh responds with a towering 2 RBI triple off the wall in centerfield and was awarded home after the relay from the OF ended up in Baylors dugout...Ags outnumbered the Bears that night and the place went nuts..this was before the new Baylor Ballpark was built and it looked pretty much like a HS stadium..but the Ags about brought the place down..i seriously thought the bleachers we were in were about to collapse..Ags on the front row were climbing up the chain linked fence backstop..it was wild. Ags won 8-4 and celebrated a Big 12 title on Baylors homefield.
And then the next year in 1999, the Sunday game vs Baylor at Olsen was a crazy game.both team ranked in the top 5 in the country..Ags down 7-0 midway..fought back and took a 1 run lead in the 7th..Baylor retakes a 2 run lead in the 8th...Ags win in in the 9th on Schumakers 2 RBI double, Ags won 11-10 to take the series and went on to win 2nd straight big 12 crown...and the night before Schumaker had a 2 run HR in the 8th to win the game...great games..that '98 and '99 Baylor series rank right up there with the best of them including '89 vs Texas,

Disclaimer, this isnt Olsen Magic, but 2 yrs ago at Baylor I was at the Sunday game with a bunch of b.u. friends and we were down 6 going into the top of the ninth and end up winning in 11 I believe... I can no longer invite those friends to an Aggie baseball game. Classic!

And obviously I was so excited to tell the tale that I scrolled past the fact the story had already been told.

What made last years Texas game the most exciting was it had that rivalry aspect. It made it that much more exciting. We were all on our feet screaming when he rounded those bases. Never seen a more exciting finish at olsen.

that baylor game was sick. i can remember listening to it in the car on my way home from the rec when the rally started. i had to go home and change for a interview dinner and i was late to the interview dinner because i couldnt leave my truck until we won. good thing the interviewer was an aggie baseball supporter and he appreciated the update!

Another game vs. mizzou i remember was in 04 i believe. Patton hit a towering HR in the 1st to take a 1-0 lead. Then final score of the game....1-0 ags. The game literally lasted like 1 hour and 45 minutes.
