For those that didn't know, Stephen McGee's dad is a preacher at a church in Burnet. One of my coworkers is a member of the congregation.

In his sermon this week, Mr. McGee mentioned that upon his return from Miami last week, he found a bunch of hate "mail" plastered all over the family vehicle.

The word 'livid' doesn't begin to express how upset that makes me.

Hell, I know people that almost shot themselves after watching the Miami game.

that really is sad!


I think we all seem to forget this is just a game!

I'd like to see some of you people if you had real problems in life!

Aggie Football is an escape from the Real World Problems, even if It is a rough season so far. Anybody wih real passion for something can understand that. Good and Bad times in Life, you always have Saturday's to look forward to. When you put so much effort, pride, heart, school loan debt, donations ect..all you want to see is being competitive...This is REEEAAAL tough right now.

But that is unfortunate if it did happen

I call BS. Strange that a mob of angry, pot-banger Aggies would go to Burnett and terrorize Mcgee's dad. Pumpers will resort to anything to go back to the fairy world of delusion, including making up stupid, redundant stories like this to get everyone riled up.

How many of these rumors are going to fly around before someone substantiates them with evidence? I don't doubt that some yokel might do this, but I have serious doubts that any real Ag would. But - in all fairness - there are a lot of us. There is most certainly plenty who just don't get it - hard to ferret them out.

I seriously like everything I know about McGee. And most of what I like has little to do with his tremendous athletic ability. I do not know him personally but as near as I can tell, he personifies many "good Ag" traits. And I believe that he tries his very best in each and every GAME.

I am very proud that he attends the same university that I attended. This sort of thing is sick. Every Aggie should condemn it.

Oh come on....

Okay, I don't have any evidence other than the word of my coworker. He has no dog in this fight as he's not an Ag or a Horn, he just happens to be a member of Mr. McGee's congregation. He's a good man and not a liar. So yes, I believe him. To take it a step further, if you think Mr. McGee got up in front of his flock and told them a whopper, well, then I pity some of you.

Sorry Dough. If they were in the church that day and heard this announcement, then okay...good enough for me. But still - I wish that people would quit pinning this garbage on Ags. We have a huge t-shirt fanbase (not nearly t.u.'s tho), so this sounds like some yokel-work to me.

Yes - I think it's important that we have some proof.

Also - odds are it's propably not Aggies who are doing this.

But also I think it’s important to reminder of that words matter and the way we conduct ourselves towards others effects everyone. The conversations we have with each other contributes to the overall atmosphere around our school.

Too many people on this web site immediately jump to calling other ags "moron" or "idiot” when they don’t like what they post. Would you say that to their face if they were standing right in front of you? Probably not.

If it's true that the McGee family experensed this sort of hate and stupidity then perhaps that is a wake up call to all of us to perhaps temper our rhetoric. Perhaps we should lead by example and show people how to better express their feelings and anger.

It’s good to be emotional and have an opinion – and it's good to express these feelings and ideas - but words matter.

I would want proof of that. I find that hard to believe, very hard to believe. In fact, I don't believe it.

Probably high school or local kids. Or just local trash. I don't think to many Aggies would drive Burnet and know what Stephen's dad drives. Still horrible though. Stephen is a great guy.

Another example of worthless cops. Aren't they supposed to protect and serve, not just give traffic tickets. If they don't find out who did this, all the cops in Burnet should be fired.

I came here to drink beer and kick ass, and I just ran out of beer.
