Just updated the forecast and it's not good if you're trying to get out this weekend. Now they're forecasting 25mph sustained winds today through Sunday night w gusts anywhere between 45-55mph. If those numbers hold, they will likely be in a delayed open for some chairs or a total close out.
The feels like temp today will be anywhere from -15 to -7 so make sure you're brining the Feb clothing options. Personally, 20-25mph winds, 40-50mph gusts, and feels like -15 is a big hell no for getting out there but if you must, be safe. That's frostbite in less than an hour for any exposed skin.
Red Rocks forecasting 100+ mph winds tonight. They actually cancelled the performance due to the forecasted winds.
Edit to add: the base elevation snow is supposed to be between 3,400 - 4,700 ft through Sunday. If that's correct, it's going to be VERY flat light w high potential for a grey out or white out if the cloud cover stays in the 70-90%+ range as currently expected.
Basically every one of the elements are working against you through Sunday at sunset. Monday should be much nicer.
