Nice to see several Aggie commits on the Blue-Chip list:

http://www.nola.com/sports/index.ssf/2009/08/division_i_quarterbacks_and_re.html

A couple of quotes about Fobbs (and how LSU is still recruiting him)from the article:

quote:
Fobbs has played running back, receiver, defensive back and returned kicks, but he projects as a wide receiver if his commitment to Texas A&M stands.

quote:
LSU is actively pursuing Thibodaux's Reed, Hahnville's Blue, Curtis' McKnight, Belle Chasse's Wright and Huntington's Fobbs.

"... IF his commitment to Texas A&M stands?"

Nice, subtle dig by the Bayoe folks, eh?

Fobbs is listed as a soft verbal. LSU wanted him as a DB...we want him as a WR and that's what he wants to play.

I'm excited about our LA commits, but I wouldn't underestimate the pull of the swamp kitties esp. if we have poor season or LSU changes its tune about wanting Fobbs on defense.

Another factor seldom talked about concerning Fobbs is that his brother plays for Prairie View A&M.

I'm surprised that LSU didn't tell him that he would get a first look at the position he wanted to play (WR), we the real intention of moving him to where they want (DB). Exactly like they did with Russell Shepard.

I think the Fobbs family has wised up to Lies Miles's methods....

anyway, his bro is at PV, his best friend started his college career at Texas A&M yesterday, and he's friends with Brandon Jackson, another allegedly "soft" verbal for the Ags for 2010.

I'm really excited that Sherm & Co are bringing guys like Fobbs to A&M. The Ags need to have a better-than-expected season this year and the coaches need to stay in contact with the verbal pledges as much as possible. The program may not be able to afford to lose some of these guys that have verbally committed already and you know other programs (Baylor, L$U, etc.) will not stop tyring to work over some of our guys until NSD in February.

Much easier for the family to have kids 45 minutes apart than 7 hours apart.

Fobbs has been a soft committ all along......he will entertain LSU until the end...hopefully we have a good season to keep him in the boat.

Yep, no surprise.

Just remember also before anyone goes and says anything dumb, his family has been known to post here.

We get Fobbs. Especially after a bowl appearance.

I'm pretty confident we get him, but he'll look into his options up until signing day. I just think we have a lot to offer the kid with our offense.

We get to a bowl and win it (even a lower bowl), we won't lose anyone and we might steal someone.

The plus to all the incredibly pessimistic predictions in the press is that it won't take much success to make it look like we are surging back.

MandevilleAg. Did you go to MHS? I was there in 1980. Re Fobbs, LSU will be full soon and A&M will have a good enough year to hold onto him.

Excited about Fobbs and what he can bring for us.
