No tomatoes yet, but have picked 9 cucumbers in the last two days. As usual I over planted and this is going to get out of control quickly.

Everything but the squash did ok. It was like the stem was decaying from the inside so I pulled them.

I don't have a garden, but occasionally there will be scraps that I throw out that produce.

For instance, this guy right here. Everything about the plant tells me this should be a yellow squash, but I can't decide if it's a pumpkin or watermelon.

Wow, that's a lot of tomato drop and # plants. I just plant about 30 plants, about 10 a week, beginning the first week if March . I have the minimum amount of about 6 hours sun to grow tomatoes. That gives me enough to use and give away weekly to family and two or three friends.

Looks like you need to make a few dozen bottles of green tomato salsa!

Cool weather veggie season done...have a fridge full of cabbages.

Tomatoes and cukes and peppers all coming in fast and furious. Sadly got squash started too late...plants loaded with male flowers, gonna be awhile for the fruits yet. Okra in the ground.

is there a secret to keeping the squash bugs from getting your squash plants around here?

I have been unsuccessful with squash for 4 years because of those darn things!

This year I only planted a few so I didnt get my hopes up and tried to grow them vertical as opposed to along the ground. Didnt really get them up that much but they are definitely doing better that previous years.

If you mean squash borers there are companies that sell traps for the adult moths. I've had decent luck with them.

My dad says the night before you plant put your seeds in diesel. Never tried it because it never mattered if they lived or die. We would always get enough before that dang pest would eat them

They usually ripen end of March through early May. Mine are already gone.
