Schloss cannot do the same however, meaning it's not his call. Since the Thursday game is on one of the big channels (ESPN / ESPN2), they have to wait until the very last minute for any postponement to the following day and it's ultimately the league's call.

What I heard him say is that if they can play at 8 or 9 PM tomorrow, that's the preference. It's supposed to rain all day but clear by game time; the issue then will be whether lightning is still in the area...

* Indiana State @ Valpo. Could the Sycamores play their way out of a host?
* GaTech @ Florida St. Big for both teams re bubble/Natl seed
* UNC @ Duke. Could move Duke to a host
* Wake @ NC State. Seed & Host implications
* Oregon St @ Arizona. Super & Host implications
* Illinois @ Purdue. Illinois leads the Big 10 but has an RPI problem. Big series to help their RPI
* UIC @ Evansville. The two teams that, if they get hot, might steal the Valley's auto bid from Indiana State in the tourney
* Sacred Heart @ UM-Eastern Shore. Likely a bloodbath, but can UMES avoid 0-48??
* Utah @ USC. Utes really need a road sweep to help their #71 RPI
* USC Upstate @ UNC Greensboro. Road wins vs the RPI 55 could really help Upstate. Still likely an auto bid or nothing.
* Coastal @ Marshall and James Madison @ Troy. Coastal or JMU but likely not both. Both in the road with RPI opportunities!

all right, the final weekend of the regular season has arrived

and the Razorbacks have made the trip to Blue Bell Park

the Ags have had a lot of trouble with Arkansas since joining the SEC...3-7 in series including 2 sweeps

however A&M has won the last 2 series at Blue Bell in 2019 and 2022

the last road team to win the series was Arkansas in 2017

Right. I meant that he entertained or mentioned the possibility that our series may have to make some changes too, not that he would be making an early call himself.

Championship Scenarios:
SEC West:
  • Arkansas' magic number is 2. Since they play A&M, they need just one win to clinch the West.
  • A&M must sweep Arkansas to overtake them and win the West

SEC East:
  • Kentucky's magic number is 3 to win the East over Tennessee (vs Vandy)
  • Tennessee holds the tiebreaker over Kentucky, and therefore needs to win one more than they do this weekend to win the East (vs South Carolina)

SEC:
  • Kentucky's magic number is 3 to win the SEC outright over Tennessee/Arkansas
  • Tennessee holds the tiebreaker over Kentucky, and therefore needs to win one more than they do this weekend to pass them. They would currently hold the tiebreaker over Arkansas by virtue of winning the series against UK and Arkansas winning.
  • Arkansas needs to win two more games than UK and one more game than UT
  • A&M must sweep Arkansas and hope UK and UT are swept.
