went to Lupe for the first time in a while last night...forgot how good the fajitas were.

for some reason the salsa and beans served at the beginning tasted like they were drowned in sugar though. it could have something to do with us walking in at closing.

Casa de Leon has the freakin' BEST authentic Mexican breakfast north of the border. I'm impressed.

La Brisa in Bacliff ... another impressive post. I'll give 'em a nod on breakfast, but they're a bit too gringo for dinner.

What do you get? Their beef fajita tacos are great with just some cilantro, onion and lime.

We're at Casa de Leon for breakfast at least once a week ... usually on Sundays.

You know you're living large when you can order a Corona at 8am on Sunday morning, munch on a bowl of queso & chips, wash it all down with a spicy plate of chilaquiles, and listen to some bad Spanish version of a Journey song on the juke. And damn, that thick green sauce on the table is lethal.

La Brisa is opening up thier second location by end of the year somewhere in Webster or Clear Lake, I think.

La Brisa is a fun place. We always park around back and walk in through the bar outside ... it always feels like there should be some Jimmy Buffet playing (often times, there is!).

Whenever we have out of town guests, we take 'em there. Fun place with good atmosphere.

I think the new location is going to be behind Sudie's right by clear creek.

We went there(la brisa) for the first time Saturday for lunch. It was all pretty good, had tacos al carbon, however the beef tasted like they were left over fajitas from the night before, but the rest was spot on, the guac was great.

They were also serving the $2 margaritas, I didn't get one but wanted to.

You are correct. I could not think of the exact location. Sorry you had a so-so meal, it is typically really good. Next time, try the Chile Relleno or the Enchiladas Verde.

There's a bad ass little taco stand (trailer) on Houston Street. I forget the cross roads, but it's a block away from the RR tracks.

Chilaquiles, coffee and a lage oj. Always!

Love the green sauce.
