And if you order it and call it 'cold unfiltered sake' instead of 'Nigori sake', they won't laugh and point. They'll just bring you some. It's pretty cool (this goes for both Tomo and Blue Fish, who serve the same brand whose name escapes me because, well, I drank the sake).

Japaneiro's in the Sugar Land Town Square is hands down the best sushi restaurant in the Houston area. I live in The Woodlands and it's worth the drive every so often.

Kubos, Azuma, and Fish are the best sushi joints in town.

Japaneiros sux. its not worth the drive from missouri city. its not worth the walk from sugarland city hall.

I eat sushi almost everyday for lunch so i've tried them all. Sushi King has the best/freshest sushi.

Japaneros too loud (concrete floors) and their mercury levels are too high.

Ask for Gekkeikan Nigori (pronounced Gay KAY kahn). Their top end Horin has won the Brussels wine contest 3 years running, and is what's served in the Japanese Emperor's household. Liquid awesome.

Also, the Avocado Soup at Japeneros is the best soup I've had anywhere, and I dine on a fat expense account all over the country.

Ginza's on San Felipe has really good sashimi. Azuma's rolls are good.

That's complete farce. That study was a joke. 2 days in a row, 2 samples each. Over that short of time span, they could have been getting multiple samples from the same fish. Meanwhile I am going to enjoy Japaneiros because its freakin delicious.

Unfiltered sake is the sh*t. Anyone ever been to Osaka? I hear that if you mix wasabi in with your soy sauce they will ask you to leave as you are insulting the chef.

Sushi Jin at Dairy Ashford and Memorial. I don't get out that way too often, but am always happy when I do! I rank freshness of sushi by yellowtail sashimi and Sushi Jin's out ranks all others by far! Everytime I go in, there is usually at least one table full of Japanese businessmen eating, which isn't a bad sign either. Owner and most of the waitstaff are Japanese as well. And I believe, according to the article below, the owner is also an Aggie.

I've been to japaneiros several times and just wasn't that impressed... The sushi is about half way between grocery store sushi and the sushi I expect at restaurants. The rest of their menu is good, but I wouldn't eat sushi there.

For sushi, I've found you can't go wrong with Oishii and Azuma

Osaka is the best I've had in Houston, but man, it's expensive.

Kaneyama is almost as good, more authentic, and much more reasonably priced.

I've never been but I'm pretty sure it is also owned by the same people that own Kaneyama so I would guess it's pretty good.

Ge is pronounced like the ge in get
k is silent
ke is pronounced like the ke in keg
i is pronounced like the ii in Hawaii
kan is two sounds but since you came close with kahn we'll let it slide.

You should spend some of that money on language lessons as well if you are going to pretend to be an expert. You sound like an idiot when you try to tell others how to pronounce things incorrect.
