I think we need another Boots and we're fine. It would be great to have Marble but Buzz has proven we can do it without him. If he's eligible, though, bring him back!

That's definitely the knock on Buzz - we lose way too many games we have no business losing. Murray State, Wofford, Vanderbilt…the list goes on. Until Buzz figures out how to avoid giving easy wins away, we're going to struggle to get a good seeding.

Had the refs called every foul that should have been called, the game wouldn't have ended 'til 2:00 a.m. Considering how physical and generally ugly the game was, I think the refs did fine. They were a bit inconsistent from 1st half to 2nd half, but they seemed fairly consistent from team to team. The only really obvious botched call was in the 2nd half when they called a jump ball underneath the UH basket. Coog player fell, lost the ball, grabbed it, tried to get up, and the whistle blew for a held ball before we ever got our hands on it. Should have been a travel and our ball. However, had we gotten the ball on that possession arrow, we would not have gotten it with 1.2 seconds left in regulation. Who knows how that could have changed the flow and situation of the game, but it was definitely a botched call.

Well there was the fast break where Jace was called out of bounds and he was not really even close .that probably cost us 2 points in regulation.

In a way, a weird game on many levels. Owned whistles in 1st half, but missed too many freebies and pretty much sealed the fate.

A really bad missed call when ref stated we were out of bounds and it wasn't true (several pics on internet show bad call and it helped give UH 8pt lead late in the game). Costly.

UH All American PG definitely outplayed our pre-season expected all-American PG (esp defensively as he gave Wade headaches and forced some bad shot choices IMO as appeared to be heaves in desperation).

Got hot as end of regulation to get it to OT, but let them get ahead and took much effort to make it back.

Did well on the boards, but scoring conversion ratio wasn't efficient enough.

Several pundits pointed out bad sets and play calls by A&M staff.

Definitely showed the issues the team faced much of the year with inconsistencies (way better the last 7-8 games, but if they had only won against the lowly Vandy, Pigs, etc teams, would have had a better seeding in the tournament).

Listening to Hstn area sports and news this morning and Sampson's arrogance of how they won w/o 2 of their best players and foul issues that seemed one sided, puts shade all over this. But they won regardless.

Congrats to UH and onto rebuild next year as back court will be different.

I think we need to get over the free throw crutch. Team shot 65% and team average on the season was 71%. That's a 3pt differential for this game. Sounds like a lot in the grand scheme of things but play calling and game play would change if those 3 extra free throws were made. If anything you could say that it SEEMED like we were terrible at free throws and that had a mental impact on the game. But we're weren't anything crazy off base in terms of season stats.

The timeout Buzz called when Boots had a clear path to the basket was pretty squirrelly for sure.

It's not a crutch. We didn't make them and it's a huge part of the reason we lost. You don't beat 1 seeds missing 16 free throws. It's not an excuse, it's just a fact. The strategy was right, the execution was not.

Yeah but the team shot pretty close to their averages and you could rationalize the jitters based on the big stage being played on. I was just making the previous point for everybody saying that if we made free throws we would have won. Well yeah if you shoot above your averages that's fair but the stats say that most likely ain't happening. Especially against a one seed.

That's fair but in analyzing why we lost by 5 in OT missing 16 free throws is a major factor. Not an excuse but a reason. You have to be better than that to win against a team of that caliber. Most of us know we were not a good shooting team this year … free throws and otherwise.

Going to be a totally different team next year. Almost everyone is gone. Manny and Solo should be back, and Taylor should come back but could declare. That is it!

If we had been making more than 50% on our FT, I suspect they would have been fouling less. But given our poor FT shooting, they were incentivized to foul at every opportunity with every warm body they could put on the floor.

We probably only lose boots, leveque, Lawrence and Hefner. Not really all that many minutes of playing time . Replacing boots won't be easy but Manny's emergence certainly helps mitigate that concern somewhat. We need some more consistent 3 pt shooters.
