National Champions Since 2010

2024 UConn (37-3)
2023 UConn (31-8)
2022 Kansas (34-6)
2021 Baylor (28-2)
2020 Canceled due to COVID-19
2019 Virginia (35-3)
2018 Villanova (36-4)
2017 North Carolina (33-7)
2016 Villanova (35-5)
2015 Duke (35-4)
2014 Connecticut (32-8)
2013 Louisville (35-5)*
2012 Kentucky (38-2)
2011 Connecticut (32-9)
2010 Duke (35-5)

Why the face? I've always liked UConn.

And I saw a tweet that said something like: since 1999, UConn has missed 30-something percent of tournaments and won almost 25%.

There have been 4 National Title winners the past 15 years that lost more than 5 games during the regular season.
3 of those National Title Winners were UCONN.

The 2011, 2014 and 23 National Title teams came out of nowhere to win it all.

99 not an upset. They lost 2 games (both games Hamilton and Voskuhl didn't play). Undefeated with their starting lineup, there was nothing upset about that game.

23 was not out of nowhere, They were the best team in the nation the last 2 months. Out of nowhere only if you hadn't watched them play and only looked at their record. Nothing fluky about the 23 team. The best team won last year.

The 2014 team beat the number 1,6,9,11 ranked teams in the tournament. That was one of the hardest roads to a championship ever.

2004 preseason #1 and never outside top 10.

2024 best team start to finish.

1999 was most definitely an upset. 1999 Duke came into the title game 37-1 and was considered to be one of the all time great college basketball teams.

Only because people were ignorant of UConn, and the Duke name. The better team won. All time great was the UConn team as proven on the court.

Thats all well and good, but that is a classic case of hindsight being 20/20. Very few people had Duke losing that title game.
Regardless....I wasn't talking about the 1999 Huskies in my post.

The 2011 (3 seed), 2014 (7 seed) and 23 (4 seed) UConn teams all came out of nowhere to win it all. The 2011 team had to win the Big East Tournament just to make the Big Dance.
That is 3 teams that were not ranked as a top 10 seed going into the tournament that happened to win it all.

I have followed UConn my whole life because I grew up in ct.
I know all these teams very well and it's very obvious you just looked at their records.

2011, was ranked all year and was 21 going into big east tournament, never in danger of not making it. Kemba went off and carried them, but still had 4 nba players on that roster. Out of nowhere is a stretch, and certainly not in line with your insulation that UConn is somehow just lucky. Still loaded with nba talent.

2023 was never ranked below 21 and spent half the season in the top 5. Loaded with talent and many picked for the final 4 because of how good they were the last two months. Again, you can't come out of nowhere when you spend half the season in the top 5 and have multiple nba players on your roster.

I don't give a rats ass that you grew up in Connecticut, or that you supposedly followed them your entire life......the fact that you are a fan boy, and t-shirt fan does not make you cool.

The problem with t-shirt fans that put their self esteem onto their favorite sports team is that they tend to overreact and act like people are personally attacking them when someone states something that they take offense to.

No one has insinuated that Connecticut got lucky. That is your insecurity speaking.

Connecticut has won 3 National Titles were they were not of the top 10 seeds headed into the Big Dance.

In 2011 they were a 3 seed. In 2014 they were a 7, and in 23 they were a 4 seed. That is an incredible accomplishment. That's all it is.
No need to get your panties in a bunch.
