Is there a way for me to tell if I've ever had covid? I find it really hard to believe that I've somehow avoided infection since early 2020. I had both Pfizer shots and two boosters (more than a year ago) and had absolutely ZERO reaction to any of the shots. I haven't had so much as a sniffle or cough since the pandemic began. I've heard of antibody tests but not sure if you can still do that after vax and boosters.

edit: I know you can test but not sure if test distinguishes between vax and actual infection.

The fda site does not give much help on this one. I have wondered this myself.

A good number of people here entered into a study a couple of years ago that involved immune responses to the SARS-CoV-2 virus and the vaccine.

That study used a test from Roche to detect antibodies to a portion of the SARS-CoV-2 virus that were not in the vaccine. So a positive test result was considered evidence of prior infection.

Antibody numbers decline over time. I'm not sure how long after infection on average this test can still detect them.

I was in the antibody study, but they stopped at 3. So I went to the doc and got an antibody test. Then they Texas Cares added a 4th draw, so I did that.

I had antibodies in each of the blood draws, for over a year.

I had covid December 2020.
