I haven't measured but in a matter of about 12 mins from 528 to 540 my yard is completely under water. Crazy volume and intensity (Pebble Creek)

6" of rain in last 3 hours at my house backing up to Bee Creek and still coming down hard!
Don't try to cross Bee Creek over the bridge at Southwood, as it's overflowing.
The Creek is also now enveloping my back yard.
Hope it slows down soon. It's been playing with my emotions.

Yeah, I made a stupid mistake and drove to HEB at the last minute. It hit on the way home and I was stuck driving 5-10 mph with flashers on. I've never driven through rain at night like that. Serious stuff.
I'm gonna order me a rain gauge think. I need to know how much we have had.
Thanks for an update to the same thing you already reported nws. After all the phones in the house just had a seizure the wife, kid and dog are all up.

We got 7.42 inches of rain in Northeast Brazos County near Reliance.
6.2 inches were in 4 hours !
Two homes in nearby Garrison Creek subdivision reported water in their houses.

My rain gauge dun overflowed at 5 inches in Southwood valley.
The only way to measure the rain last night was with a bucket.

If my rain gauge is put in a flowerbed that is let's say, 2 feet from the house, is that adequate? The only thing I thought about is if the rain is blowing from the direction of the house, will it get missed?
Really don't want to put one randomly in the middle of the yard because of mowing (but guess I could put one on a pole around hot tub)

At LEAST 7.5" @ Copperfield and Boonville
We attached ours to the fence. Away from trees and roof. Open sky above. You might consider that if it's an option.
