Sometimes they'll be joking about a news story when I make it to the parking lot of a grocery store. Turn the car off, go inside, get a week's worth of groceries, go outside, start the car up, and they're still telling pretty much the same joke over and over again about the same news story.

Yep, was rooting for them but at some point you gotta bring in numbers. Ah well.

I only liked Rhynes, Cavanaugh and Julie. The rest of the format sucked big time. And Ben and Skin are the worst. They try to be funny and they're not.

Much of this seems like a stretch but interesting.

Iheart would never sell one solitary station to someone. It's more beneficial for them to keep it and its share of ad $ rather than let another entrant to the market who could take away any ad $ from other iheart stations plus on a network/corporate level that's a station they can use to run their networked commercials in a huge market. They lose that if they sell a station in a huge market and they have the largest leverage in American radio and they're not going to cede anything.

KESN was a different situation entirely. Disney was getting out of owning radio stations entirely and the easiest thing in the world is to dump off a single station to a religious operator. I don't think the timeline matches up but if the Freaks had sorted it out before they got the chance to replace the eagle, Disney may have been willing to talk. They may have had some sort of non-compete going on when the actual KESN stuff happened, though. Not super sure on the timeline. I just like to think about a separate universe where KESN winds up outside Cumulus/Ticket building yet somehow gets Rhyner etc. That's a fun thought experiment.
