These commercials are weird, but if Mojo Criollo impresses chicas like the one in the ad, then it's worth a shot.

This is a cute post from the Arlington thread:

"I think there is plenty of time:

Current, Projected => Final
HOU: 47-33, 40-42 => 87-75
TEX: 40-41, 47-34 => 87-75

9G H2H

HOU: 16-6 in June
TEX: 12-10 in June

Let's see where we are at the ASG. And then again at the TDL. "

"We're going to start playing well above our lifetime record while Houston is going to play essentially 0.500 baseball. Trust me".

The only reason i see us playing 0.500 ball is because we wrapped up the 1st seed and bye by September 1st.

If our pitching can stay at this elite level there's no telling how far this team could go in October

The quality of pitching the Cubs are about to offer is not as good as what the Astros just saw from Philadelphia.

Last 3 Pitchers vs the next 3 --

Phillies --

Suarez: 6-2, 2.08 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, 2.8 WAR

Wheeler: 7-3, 2.55 ERA, 0.93 WHIP, 3.8 WAR

Sanchez: 6-2, 2.79 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, 3.1 WAR

Cubs --

Horton: 3-1. 3.73 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, -0.3 WAR -- vs Walter

Rea: 4-3, 4.42 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, -0.2 WAR -- vs Gusto (maybe TBA?)

Taillon: 7-5. 4.47 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, -0.1 WAR -- vs Valdez

The flip side is the Phillies just saw our best 3. They get Framber Sunday but the first two are not exactly Ryan and JV.

Walter and Gusto have been pitching like Ryan and JV lately.

Wonder if Raleigh will start to get the Ohtani on the Angels treatment….

"Raleigh hits a towering 452' bomb to make it 35 on the season, which is 5 more than anyone in baseball. He's the first catcher since Mike Piazza to have 30+ HRs by the ASB since 1996. Meanwhile the Twins win 13-2"

I was surprised at how many Cubbies I saw at the game last night. Also saw a Pirates fan and a Diamondbacks fan.

Went to the game with a Phillies fan and got to watch him squirm all game. I went in with zero expectations after seeing the lineup so just enjoyed the game. I'd be pissed traveling here for three games and seeing one run, ha.

ETA clarification.

Arlington has one "every player have a career year" season and thinks they could just do it again no probs because they have 9 H2H games against a dynasty. LOL. Delusion at its finest.

would be nice to win that trade the next 3!

This might be my favorite team of the dynasty, because there is no logical argument for them to be up 6.5 at the halfway point. Almost every prognosticator had us between 80-86 wins, and we are on a 96 win pace against the tougher half of our schedule. We could currently field a pretty solid starting rotation off our IL. Our "best" hitters going into this season have either missed more than they have played (yordan) or terribly regressed (altuve, diaz, walker), but here we are.

2nd half goals: match first half record; extend Jeremy Pena; Clinch division sometime in mid-September, then when our 3rd title in 9 season!

Even though they lost, 2019 is still my favorite. And surprisingly 2021 also holds fond memories for me. I think it's because first year with fans since the scandal, got the most boos/hate and still won the pennant. Also Altuve was peak clutch that season.

perhaps a little deceptive now...

but the Astros ran their record vs. left-handed starters to 9-3

might see the next one in Colorado

And small sample sizes rarely yield accurate trends. But I can't wait to see him pass Barry Bonds as the all-time HR king in the mid-2700s

I will NEVER get over 2019. That was the best ****ing team i can remember - not just the best Astros team. By any measure, this team was an all-timer. Pretty much the epicenter of my Dusty-hate/conspiracy theory, because I still don't see any better explanation for that team not winning it all.

no. Everyone needs to stop with the extend Peña crap. Hunter should be the priority. Period. The series should be the proof. Pitching wins games/championships.

Now if Hunter says FU and pulls the Tucker card then yes lock Jeremy down but Hunter needs to be the priority

It's not either or. They should try to extend both.

Unfortunately, they have been trying. Both kids know how good they are and are showing a willingness to bet on themselves.

the will harris cutter down and out of the zone being shot off the foul pole is one of those 1/1,000 outcomes that sit with you for a long time. Thank god for '22 and who knows, maybe this year too

If I recall correctly, Dusty wasn't even in the dugout most of the time in the '19 World Series. That's how little he cared about the Astros that year.
