Am I the only one that is hating the new CellarTracker app? I have a bad feeling I've drunk wines that haven't been removed from my list.

What changed? I've not noticed anything.

I've found that I've drunk wines that weren't removed because I didn't hit the "consume" button, but you can still "drink" it through the edit function. It's a little more confusing.

It's a white wine night.

I think I'm one of the 6 people left that still use Cellartracker Classic.

I bought mine from Wine Enthusiast. They also had the best price that I could find recently for a replacement door when movers shattered the glass door on mine.

I am not good with keeping cellartracker updated, but I have purchased a lot of wine in the last year that I intend to keep for a while so I think I am going to try to start over. I saw that there was a major update, but when I logged in everything looked the same.

They released a new app. So old app is still out there, and the same.

My favorite thing about the old app was viewing a restaurant style wine list. You could organize it how you wanted, add whatever fields you wanted (drink date, value, wine cellar shelf, etc) and it opened in an internet browser.

So I'd leave the browser open and anytime I was picking out a wine I'd just go to that. And it would auto update.

Didn't even know there was a new app until these posts. I used the web site mainly. Old app is fine as far as I'm concerned. I've no problem with a subscription model, I've always thrown the the annual $40 anyway.

Tried something new tonight. I believe it to be my first Swiss wine, and it was quite good.

I don't think I've ever had something from Ridge that I didn't like.

I am a big fan of their zin field blends, particularly Pagani, Geyserville, Lytton springs, and Dusi. Monte Bello is above my pay grade, but this is my first go at the baby MB and it is quite good. Hard for me to imagine that the real deal MB would be that much better.

I say that everytime you or QBCade post.

This trip here was mostly work but we did get some quality time in Munich and Austria. Lots of German and Austrian white wines but nothing incredible. The views though

Going to the Willamette in June. Fairly short trip and not wanting to be super busy. So far are planning tastings with Big Table Farm (our favorite Oregon wines) and Eieio. Will probably add 1 more and that's it.

For those of you who have been up there, if you could only make one stop, where would you go?

Staying on a farm in Carlton, dinners planned at Earth & Sea, Joel Palmer House, and Humble Spirit.

What are you favorite French & Italian full body reds that can typically be found in a grocery store?

Without delving much more into details, if I had to throw a dart at one wine from each country for that (that is readily available)
Italy - Some kind of Chianti (probably Classico or above)
France - A Chteauneuf-du-Pape or other southern Rhone red

Guigal Cote-du-Rhone for a French red. Usually around $15, and drinks for twice as much. It's also a wine that has some aging potential. Don't have a pick for an Italian red.

Rosso di Montalcino tends to do well from a QPR standpoint.

Agreed. Argiano and Il Poggione have been solid choices.
