This was sent during the hearings so my guess is either he wasn't listening to someone or he did it on a break.

You need to print off and frame that e-mail. What is the time-stamp on it?

dr. gates, you've been a great man of integrity that ive really come to admire over the past few years. thank you for all you've done for A&M and for what you will continue to do in Washington. you are without a doubt the right man for the job. Godspeed, sir.
