Site lines.

Will the parking garage block the sight of the 'Kyle Field' signage when driving to College Station?

Let's log that thought.

1st we reach $10k then we start brainstorming.

I and a few others started a fund for other reasons in '07 that came to fruition quickly on this site and other Aggie sites. Needless to say, the pledge amounts happened quickly. You can figure out the initiative behind the fund.
Football-related.

In short, for now, it's a non-profit to light Kyle Field signage. That is all. One bridge at a time...getting to that bridge is the difficult part.

I asked about the neon lights on the Aggieland board. Fossil Ag usually knows these things.

Like it that way though.

Whereabouts are you Bill?

I'll send some email correspondences tomorrow to get some insight / opinions.

I may post the results depending on the information.

I loved the Kyle Field lights. They were donated by a good Ag who has made his last Corps trip. They should be lit again.

It was seriously cool to fly into Easterwood and see Kyle Field at night.

Make the KYLE FIELD sign double as a bug zapper! More bang for your buck and very entertaining.

Kevin, thanks for the note. I had some questions about this a few years ago, and I recall the chore was going to be expensive, but I don’t remember how much. I’ve asked our facilities manager to look into it and get us some information for our next sr staff meeting which is next Tuesday morning. I’ll get back to you after that meeting. bill

Lawrence. Drive into KC for work a few times a week while my wife is attending graduate school. Nice town...

Hoping to touch base with the KC A&M club...

I could start a "cause" on Facebook to get that rolling?

I think LEDs are the way to go...we make a product that would work well for this application and have worked with A&M in the past.

Out of curiosity, who is 'we'?

The Athletic Department?

(and per those links, the cost would be $150k....or was in 2006.....correct? )

I am for it. Sounds like one of the most exciting causes for Aggies to get involved in.
I think the money could be raised!! I'd love to see the letters lit. I too drive into College Station on HWY 60 and to see Kyle Field in the distance is a sight to behold. Think how spectacular it would look with the letters in lights!!

"We", the collective group of Ags that wants to see this done. Brazos grahics got in toush with a Ag operated sign company in the BCS.

Their crew went out yesterday afternoon and surveyed it from the top of the pressbox. Currently, numbers are being crunched.

Did the company get permission to do this? I dont mean to be a debbie downer, and appreciate what you guys are putting together.

But you might be careful that you go through the proper channels...as not to tick off the people you'll need to work with in the future, in order to get the lights fixed.

Gotcha......just a friendly suggestion.

Keep up the good work. I'll buy a t-shirt or two when they're available.

There are 140k people who are friends of A&M on facebook. If we can get a fraction of them to donate a bit of cash, we'll be close.

Didn't byrne say at one point it would cost millions to relight those letters? There was BBWW about it, or an e-mail from him posted here a few years back or something if I recall...

Doesn't BB say it will cost millions to do anything?

Did anyone ever find out when the letters were last lit?
