That's fair, but the point remains. People live with murderers all the time and have no clue until they are arrested. To make any assumption with zero evidence is foolish.

We didn't know, wouldn't have known, couldn't have known and guess what... we still don't know. Not playing devil's advocate but he isn't yet guilty.

Let it go. He's gone. I hope he has the worst sentence ever if convicted.

lol. There's sunshine pumping, and then there's supernova blasting. Had OJ played for the Ags, some of y'all would still be talking about how the glove didn't fit.

The girlfriend died and as far as anyone knew it was due to a tragic, allergic reaction of some kind.

As it turns out, most people are allergic to poison.

It took law enforcement a year of investigation to file charges. Does it take that long to complete the toxicology? Maybe, but I doubt the evidence is as cut and dried as you make it after reading a single article posted on a website. You might want to consider letting justice run its course before grabbing your rope.

Sounds like an episode of Law & Order. Arrest and trial should only take a hour.

Just to be clear since most of ya'll don't understand how these things work, he was just indicted by a grand jury. Grand jury proceedings are conducted in secret and only law enforcement and the prosecuting attorney's would have knowledge that the case was being presented to the grand jury. If she was poisoned by cocaine they would need to prove that she did not intentionally ingest the substance. Any detective that knows how to do their job would not let the target know they are a suspect in this situation. This is due to the fact that in order to murder someone using cocaine as the poison one would need to administer a very large amount of it and presumably would have to do it intravenously as you could not shove the necessary amount up the victims nose or force them to inhale a lethal dose into their lungs. The median lethal dose (LD50) for cocaine is 43.54 mg/1 lb of body weight, and she was 5 months pregnant so assume she was over 125 lbs and you can do the math as to the amount of cocaine one would need to administer to kill someone using cocaine as the poison. The article seems to state that she died before ever being able to make any statements to the police. So law enforcement would keep quiet while they subpoena credit card/bank records looking for evidence he purchased needles and assuming he was smart enough to use cash that would involve exponentially more work. Also, they would subpoena phone records and work up the case to get witness statements or evidence connecting him to the purchase of cocaine in close proximity to the incident. Easiest way to make the case is keep quiet and let the suspect make the case for them by running their mouth to someone about how they got away with murder. Rarely is someone going to brag about getting away with murder to their father, especially when one of the victims would be their grandchild. Obviously these allegations are horrific if true, but to act like this would be something his Dad would have been aware of is battered Aggie syndrome on steroids.

Good analysis. The lethal dose would also be determined by what it was cut with and other additives.

Lethal dose? You mean lifetime supply.

43 mg is 0.043 grams

She was roughly 125 lbs per your example, which means her lethal dose would be about 5 grams.

An 8 ball is 3.5 grams (I mean, so I've heard) and people do that just sitting around for fun.

We're not talking Pablo Escobar levels here, we're talking drunk frat guy at The Tap trying to prove he can dance while wearing what was clearly an 80 year old's sweater vest.

Street value would be like $60-80…to kill someone.

It looks like 5.4 grams for our 125 lber.

An 8 ball is 3.5 grams, so by my math Stevie Nicks has been dead for decades.

Edit - Sh**, someone actually bothered to do the math in the few posts left in the thread. Thanks a lot gilhicks1.

3.5 grams is quite a bit in a sitting. As you stated, not Escobar-esque, but still…

And an 8 ball is $150 to $250. Not cheap.
