It's like he lost grip of the ball on the way up, tried to get it back, lost his balance, then just tossed it up there.

I was impressed he got as close as he did.

That was just goofy.

No, I don't think it would have counted. You can't cross the line until the ball gets to the basket. He should have just held on to it and reset himself for the shot.
