I bought a new trigger guard for my AR and am having trouble removing the rear pin on the stock trigger guard. Any tips? Doesn't seem like a tough install.

Roll pin. Make sure you use a punch that has a flat face, and matches the OD of the pin, otherwise you're just peening the steel pin tighter into your aluminium upper. Steel wins every time, if it gets peened in too much then it will make the next pin a loose fit, besides making it harder to get out.

Help a newb. I am buying parts to build my first AR. I have a super bolt from AR Performance but I need to buy the rest of the bcg.

Any recommendations on what kind and where to buy?

A BC is a BC, as long as it's made from 8620 steel. Probably best to just buy a complete BCG and keep the bolt that comes with it as a spare.

NiB coatings help with lubricity and cleaning, but a fairly new and not necessary.

Necessary? Is it necessary for me to drink my own urine? No, but I do it anyway because it's sterile and I like the taste.


...the NiB coatings sure seem to make cleanup a breeze though. And they're purdy.

And I've never shot Russian but I've never had an issue with anything I've shot. Steel or brass.
