Black and white films are hard because you have to do a lot of experimenting with the tones since you only have two colors to work with. This one took a while though cuz I wanted the background to look as close as possible to the original. Like I said Dubs. Use the line function. Go back and erase if it isn't how you want it. Another tip: Click View - Zoom to work up close on small details. It helps a lot.

oh and good advice too. but if i am right then you are a very talented artist drawing/painting so you have the natural ability to see things in a different way. my drawings on paper look worse than my pathetic drawings here. haha doesn't mean i'm not going to try...i actually like doing it...it's fun

Someone will get it. It's a very famous film.
I'm sure at least some part of art comes naturally but it is like everything else. The more you practice the better you will get. The more you do it, the more you start to notice how to bring out smaller details that really add depth to an image and see where you want to go with a picture. I can already see my paint pics improving from the ones I did at the start as I get more familiar with the program. Keep it up because I enjoy looking at everyone elses as much as I like making 'em cuz I like seeing all of the different styles that everyone's pictures have.

awesome...i will definitely keep trying. compared to my first one on page 6 i believe, the last one i did, pink flamingos was better...not much...but better.
The Pink Flamingos one was very good FYI. That movie makes me want to puke but I really liked the colors and style on that one. I also really liked the Shawshank Redemption pic of the beach scene at the end and the 2001 Space Odyssey pic. I don't remember who did those.
pink flamingos is one of my favorite movies. but of course, jon waters is probably my favorite director. you should try watching female trouble...it's awesome! it has the same case of characters... the dreamlanders they call them. they were pretty much in all of jon waters films

Great job on Gladiator. You're shading and coloring are wicked! What do you use to get the colors like that? I cant get that smooth shading with the spray paint can. Using a mouse pad on a laptop probably doesn't really help either though.
