If the lights are so hot that they will melt the wires the birds won't live there or they will be cooked, so why not install LED lights and close it in and let the birds fight the bats for a home in Kyle.

Byrne wrote about this in his WW columns a while back and explained that basically, it would cost a couple hundred grand, and unless someone wanted to donate the cash for it, there were more pressing needs.
I would assume this hasn't changed.
