A vote for the University to Light the KYLE FIELD letters again. It is so important for A&M, IMO.
I wish it would happen. I asked Byrne about it last time i spoke with him and his reply was something along the lines that it will never happen because the birds get in and tear the wiring up. I asked why they dont close it in or maybe put some type of chicken wire to stop them. he then said that they tear up the chicken wire and ultimatley still get to the wiring to nest and that to close it in completely it would cause the wires to not breathe and become to hot.

Having never been to A&M with them being lighted, and with the images I've seen thinking it's look good, why did they decide to remove the lights?

Another BS excuse...if that was the case how did we burn them for over a decade with no problem

If it was done before (and it was!), it can be done again. I'm not buying into the excuse BB gave...
If that was Byrne's true excuse, that is pretty lame. My old man was in the electric sign industry for 35 years. Figuring out how to light that sign back up without birds being an issue would not be difficult or very expensive relatively speaking.

Why don't you contribute money to get the lights fixed/replaced.
There are 4600 visitors on Texags as of 9:50am. If those that really cared about the lights, let's say 50%, contributed $50/month for the remainder of 2008 ($920,000) then something may be done.
