Enfield is a good get for SMU. I don't think he's a great coach but I think he's pretty good.

Im surprised I havent heard about Oklahoma State kicking the tires on Turgeon
No kidding.
My sense is that Turgeon bailed on Maryland in the middle of a season because he was burnt out - and yes, knew he was likely to get fired at the end of the season anyway. Maybe he has enough in the bank that he doesn't need to coach anymore.
I'm sure he doesn't need to but I'm surprised he doesn't want to. Always seemed like a competitive guy, I figured after a season away he'd be itching to get back in the game.

I don't think a retread like Alford would be too inspiring if I was an OSU fan.
Vandy is hard. I think he's done a good job at GCU and gotten them in good spot. I'd have a hard time moving from Phoenix to Stillwater though.
I hate that kind of hire anyway. Frankly it should be illegal at a state institution. I hope his kid is terrible. It's on par with hiring a former player that has no coaching experience.
Won't be surprised at all if it goes the way of Pat Knight.

Not the sexiest hire for a school that thought they might pry away Scott Drew (talk about delusional...) but a perfectly sensible one.
Perfectly sensible, but seems like quite a big step up from Charleston. It won't be a Kenny Payne style disaster though, that is for sure.
He at least has experience inside of bigger programs. He was an assistant at Wake Forest and Xavier. That's not the same as running a major program obviously, but it's better than some of these guys that come from mid-majors that have never even been around that kind of ship before.
He sort of hits my cycle of very basic qualifications:
1) Experience in a major program
2) Experience running your own program
3) Quantifiable success at previous stops

I like him and he's originally from Cincinnati. I've enjoyed going to alot of their games since he took over at CofC. I hope it works out for him. He's a very hands on and energetic guy and will get out and mix it up with the fanbase, the students, and the city of Louisville on a regular basis. Good luck coach!

I would think. The plane is owned by a wealthy Atascosa County ranching family and it flew from Stillwater to San Antonio about an hour later, so I'm guessing ranch business not basketball business.

My general impression of him is that he's usually wrong.
